The Story : The Royal Tutor (Horace) is sent along with the Prince ( Mickey) to meet a visiting Princess (Minnie) and her friend the Grand Duchess (Clarabelle). When the Prince and Princess falls in love and plan their wedding arrangments, the Tutor immediantly falls in love with the Duchess. He realizes if he married the Duchess, she would be removed from the royal court. So he lies about being a Duke in order to impress her, things go well. Until the Duchess' father (Pete) reveals the truth. This forces the Duchess to chose, if she should remain a Duchess and marry a pompus and selfish Duke (Sylvester Shyster) or give up everything to be with the Tutor.

Before she could even answer, she is tearfully forced to return home. The Duchess leaves him with a sad kiss goodbye, the Tutor is left heartbroken that he would never see her again. On the day of the wedding the Prince and Princess are crowned as King and Queen, they soon notice the Tutor is still in love with the Duchess and misses her dearly. Secretly they plan a big ceremony for the Duchess, soon she returns to be reunited with the Tutor and discovers the surprise ceremony was actually a surprise wedding.
